In accordance with current regulations and as part of its mission, APRUE set up an Energy Management Observatory in 2006.

Thanks to its expertise and the quality of its scientific methods, the Observatory itself is destined to become a key player on the energy scene, called upon by decision-makers to provide advice, findings and diagnoses.

More specifically, the Observatory  general missions focus on the following aspects:

. Gather, structure, organize, make accessible and disseminate energy information and statistics;
. Develop energy efficiency indicators and their CO2 content;
. Carry out studies and lead workgroups required for energy forecasting, particularly with regard to energy consumption (demand);
. Evaluate energy-saving potential.
