APRUE’s Participation in the BATIMATEC Exhibition The National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalization of Energy Use (APRUE) is taking part in the 2026 edition of BATIMATEC, the leading event in Algeria’s building sector. Organized from May 3rd to 7th, 2026, at the Palais des Expositions (SAFEX) in Pins Maritimes, Algiers, this key event brings together each year the main stakeholders in construction, engineering, and building-related technologies.  

Algeria and Sweden Partner to Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization On April 28, 2026, a partnership agreement was formalized at the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy between the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG) and the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR). This strategic collaboration, aimed at decarbonizing Algeria’s industrial sector, was signed in the presence of the Swedish Ambassador and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Director General of the National Agency for the Development and Rationalization of Energy Use (APRUE) attended the ceremony alongside senior ministerial officials and industry leaders. During specialized workshops, APRUE experts engaged in high-level knowledge exchange regarding sustainable development challenges, specifically focusing on how the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) might influence the global competitiveness of Algeria’s non-hydrocarbon exports.

Official installation of the Inter-Sectoral Committee for Energy Management (CIME) On Monday 20 April 2026, the Inter-Sectoral Committee for Energy Management (CIME) was officially inaugurated under the supervision of the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr Mourad Adjal. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of State for Hydrocarbons, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, the Minister of the Environment and Quality of Life, and representatives and executives of the institutions under its supervision. The event was held at the Building Management Training School (EFGB) in Ben Aknoun.Established as an advisory body, the committee brings together the relevant ministries, major economic stakeholders (the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups), the scientific research community, civil society and the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalisation of Energy Use to provide strategic consultation.  Key objectives of the committee: Designing and overseeing the implementation of energy management policies. Strengthening energy efficiency and rationalising consumption at the national level. Promoting the adoption of renewable energies. Issuing opinions on the master plan and preliminary draft of the National Energy Management Program.   Converging efforts across these sectors, combined with the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalisation of Energy Use’s mandate to execute and monitor the National Programme in this area, demonstrates a firm commitment to progressing towards an effective energy transition that ensures the preservation of our national resources for future generations.

APRUE’s participation in the national meeting of managers in the energy and renewable energy sector APRUE, represented by its Director General, took part on Sunday 12 April 2026 in the national meeting of managers from the energy and renewable energy sector.At this meeting, which was dedicated to reviewing the sector’s performance, the Minister for Energy and Renewable Energy reiterated the sector’s key strategic priorities, namely:– Strengthening energy security;– Accelerating the energy transition, notably through improved energy efficiency and the development of renewable energy;– Modernising the national energy system;– Strengthening governance and promoting a culture of performance within the sector’s institutions.

APRUE at the ERA 2026 Exhibition: a new milestone! APRUE is pleased to announce its participation in the 15th edition of the ERA Exhibition, which will be held from February 2 to 4, 2026, at the Conference Center Mohamed Ben Ahmed – OranPresent at the ERA Salon for several editions, APRUE is now taking a new step by becoming an official partner of this major event, thus committing more strongly alongside the organizers and industry stakeholders in promoting energy management, and, particularly, energy efficiency in Algeria.
