Official installation of the Inter-Sectoral Committee for Energy Management (CIME) On Monday 20 April 2026, the Inter-Sectoral Committee for Energy Management (CIME) was officially inaugurated under the supervision of the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr Mourad Adjal. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of State for Hydrocarbons, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, the Minister of the Environment and Quality of Life, and representatives and executives of the institutions under its supervision. The event was held at the Building Management Training School (EFGB) in Ben Aknoun.Established as an advisory body, the committee brings together the relevant ministries, major economic stakeholders (the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups), the scientific research community, civil society and the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalisation of Energy Use to provide strategic consultation. Key objectives of the committee: Designing and overseeing the implementation of energy management policies. Strengthening energy efficiency and rationalising consumption at the national level. Promoting the adoption of renewable energies. Issuing opinions on the master plan and preliminary draft of the National Energy Management Program. Converging efforts across these sectors, combined with the National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalisation of Energy Use’s mandate to execute and monitor the National Programme in this area, demonstrates a firm commitment to progressing towards an effective energy transition that ensures the preservation of our national resources for future generations.
